meme | #001 -- hardest words to say ( and i'd do anything to make you stay )
HARDEST THING TO SAY MEME Sometimes the hardest things to say are also the most important. It doesn't matter how much it scares you to do so, it's finally time to be honest. - post as your character. - others go to RNG and roll numbers 1-22 then respond setting up a scenario. - respond and have fun! 01. I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE Unfortunately, you can't keep lying to your partner/friend/family anymore. You just don't feel the same for them anymore. 02. I WOULD KILL YOU The person who means so much to you has done something completely unforgivable and now it's time to make sure they know where they stand. You would kill them if you ever got the chance. 03. I LOVE YOU, BUT... A bittersweet love confession. You know you love this person more than anything, but you're not sure you can give them what they need. 04. I DON'T TRUST YOU No matter how you feel about this person, you really can't trust them anymore. 05. SACRIFICE You're going to sacrifice yourself, for the person you're talking with or for the good of all humanity. You want them to know the reasons and that there's no stopping you. 06. TROUBLE You're in trouble and you might not make it through. You need to let at least one person know how you feel before it's too late though. 07. CRIME CONFESSION You did something you weren't proud of and now it's time to admit it. 08. DEMONS We've all got our demons and we've all got our own personal nightmares we have to face, but this time? You can't hold it all back. 09. I'M PREGNANT... Now's not the best time for it maybe or maybe you're just nervous how your partner will react, but they need to hear it. 10. BETRAYAL You've betrayed this person and you have to tell them the truth, no more running from it 11. CHEATED You've been unfaithful and it's time to tell your lover. 12. BROKEN That's it. You've had it. You are entirely broken and tired of everything. 13. AFRAID Something has you deathly afraid and you need to talk about it. 14. HELP ME You need someone to help you, bad. You can't do it alone anymore, you've tried. 15. I'M SORRY You said something or did something horrible and now it's time to ask for forgiveness. 16. YOU WERE A MISTAKE Sorry, but whoever you're talking to was the biggest mistake of your life or maybe it was just something you did together. 17. NOT WHO I SAY I AM You're so far from who they think you are, you need to finally tell the truth. 18. LET'S RUN AWAY You want to just get out, leave everything behind and be with this one person for the rest of your life. 19. ASHAMED Either you're ashamed of something they have done or something you did, either way you need to bring it up. 20. CAN'T REMEMBER The person standing in front of you looks so happy to see you, so relieved, but how do you tell them you can't remember a thing about them? 21. HOW COULD YOU You don't understand how they could treat you like they have, do what they have done when you've done nothing but be good to them. 22. YOUR CHOICE Either choose an option from above, mix and match, or make up your own idea. |

And as Leckie led her down the steps, she didn't really worry about it so much, glancing back to see her father winking at her as he closed the door behind them. She pulled herself closer as they walked towards the park nearby, which would have a perfect view of the fireworks, she knew. "Should I have brought a blanket or something?" Though, she supposed he could've put one in the basket he was carrying.

Right now, though, he was happy with how Summer pulled herself closer as they headed for the park. "I brought a bedsheet, I hope that's okay?" he said - it had been easier to roll up and put into the basket, and it was warm enough outside that it shouldn't get cold later, given that it was July. "But it is something to sit on, so you won't get that pretty dress dirty. That would be a shame, and I won't be the one responsible for it," he teased, fingers moving to touch the side of that dress just briefly before they moved away again.
no subject
"That works perfectly," she put in with a smile, glancing up at him as he spoke of her dress and preventing of it getting dirty. "It's okay, my dress won't get dirty on a sheet. So good thinking." She kept on grinning as she stayed close, leaning up to press a kiss to his jaw. "You're a sweet heart."
no subject
He grinned when she approved, humming softly as her lips touched his jaw. "Because you are, and I've got to keep up with you," he countered, because she was definitely sweet, kind and giving, and he just wanted to make her happy, loved seeing her smile, like he'd told her many times. "So, do you know of a good spot we should take? Or should we just search until we find one that looks good?" He'd been the park many times by now, but not always to search out good picnic spots.

The park was definitely occupied already, some families and some couples spread out over the expanse. But it wasn't packed, and he noted a few spots as they headed for the willow tree she'd mentioned. But, as luck would have it, around the far side of the tree there was no one, like their own little private spot with the trunk of the tree and its long boughs dividing the space from the rest of the park. "Oh... I think this will work pretty well, don't you?" They could even see over to the little pond on this side of the park, where a couple of frogs already croaked even though it wasn't sunset yet.

The truth was, he had a bottle of champagne for later, but he figured they could drink the cokes she'd brought with their dinner and have that later, with the cookies. So he reached over and grabbed the two bottles, twisting the metal caps off before offering one to her.
no subject
She took the offered the coke with a smile and a word of thanks before she moved to make her sandwich before taking a tiny bite and humming. "It's perfect, Leckie. So perfect."
no subject
But really, the proof was in the sound she made, the way she looked like she approved even as she told him it was perfect. And that really meant a lot, as he got to work on his own sandwich, smiling, pleased. "I'm glad you think so. It took a couple of burned chickens over the past few months before I figured out just how to do it right every time."
no subject
Her cheeks flushed some as she looked at him with a bit of a smile, reaching over to touch his hair lovingly, sweetly. "Thanks for this. I can't imagine a better way to spend my Fourth."
no subject
Though right now, he leaned happily into her touch, though not so much so that he couldn't shove a forkful of salad into his mouth. "You're welcome," he said, once he'd chewed and swallowed. "I just wanted it to be special... I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be, right now, or anyone I'd rather be with." And he wasn't just saying that for her benefit, it really was true. "You've been so great to me, I wanted to be great to you, too."
no subject
She let her hand drop as he took bite of salad, happy to let him eat since she was hungry herself, she just hadn't realized it until she started eating. She took her own bite of salad as he spoke and she swallowed before she gave him a warm smile, feeling what he said was the absolute truth. "I'm glad to be here with you. I don't want to be anywhere else since you've been so amazing to me. Seriously."
no subject
Of course, both of them were concentrating more on the food than anything just now, but that was all right - food was for eating, after all, so he was glad she seemed hungry. Still, he was even more glad for that smile, those words she said a moment later. "You deserve it, Summer. Absolutely. You deserve a lot more than I can do for you, really... but I guess I'll just always be scrambling to catch up." He didn't say that like it was a bad thing, though. If she'd keep him around so he could catch up... then that sounded fine to him.
no subject
"Don't feel that way. You've done more than know for me." He didn't have to come over that day, he didn't have to agree with try again with her. And before all of his, those letters, his love, it had given her hope and happiness. He couldn't understand how much he meant to her. She was careful since that first day he came home not to overwhelm him with her emotions because while she was sure he cared for her, she was pretty sure he didn't love her the way she loved him. And she'd grown to accept that after a bit of a struggle. "You deserve a lot yourself."
no subject
"I hope I have," he said earnestly, giving her a hopeful smile. Right now he knew couldn't love her like he had before - before, that love was born of years of memories and he couldn't give that back to her, not now that he only had some of those memories back, but not all of them (yet, he hoped). But he'd found that he loved her simply because he couldn't not love her - for her kindness, her patience, and her spirit. She'd been so easy to fall for that he'd barely realized it was happening, and when he finally had, he had been hesitant to say those three words to her, worried she'd think he didn't mean them - or that he couldn't mean them in the way she wanted. He was still waiting for the right time to tell her, but for now all he could do was let his actions speak for him. "I just want to be deserving of whatever you want to give me, that's all. I couldn't have gotten this far without you, I'm pretty darn sure of that."
no subject
And the food was good, she was contently munching on each thing as the natural light around them was starting to fade, meaning the fireworks would be near. "Well, you're a success then because you are definitely deserving of anything you want."
no subject
And she definitely made him happy, especially when she said things like that - not only because it made him feel good, but because it made him feel loved, and that was all any man could ask for, in his opinion. As the light started to fade and they kept working on their meal, he glanced over at her basket with the cookies. "When we're done... if you want to break out those cookies, I have something that might go well with them. So I guess now is the time to make sure we leave room for dessert."
no subject
He mentioned the cookies as the light faded, her eyes going to the basket as she nodded. "Oh, yeah." Of course, when he said he had something to go with them, she looked at him with a curious expression, taking a sip of her coke, finding it refreshing in the warm air around them. "What did you bring?" Not that she expected him to reveal the surprise until he wanted, it couldn't hurt to ask, of course.
no subject
He grinned more earnestly as she looked at him curiously, wanting to know what he'd brought. But she was right - he wasn't going to pull it out until he had to, maybe ten or five minutes before the show, he was keeping an eye on his watch. "You'll just have to find out," he said in a singsong voice, though he added, "I promise you'll like it. Even if your cookies outshine just about anything." He sat there watching her for a moment, before he glanced in the direction of the band, even if he couldn't see them very well, and asked - "It might be only for a song... but would you like to dance?"
no subject
However when he didn't tell her what he was going to give her, she pouted at him, predictably. Though it faded when he asked her to dance and was quickly replaced by a rather large smile and a flush. "Yes, yes I would."
no subject
He moved to take her hand and pull her up next to him, though not before he'd moved their plates and the basket over to one edge of the sheet. "It's not exactly a dance floor, but... can't beat live music, right?" He grinned down at her, sliding one hand down to her waist as the one holding hers just moved so the position was a little more comfortable before he started them moving together in time to the music. The steps were small, not too energetic, just silly and happy and pleased to be outside dancing in the park with her, thinking he couldn't remember a time he'd been happier - and he was just fine with that.
no subject
He pulled her a little closer, making her smile with his words and the silliness of dancing outdoors when no one else was. She felt self-conscious only for a moment before she moved easily with him, feeling lighter than air, her smile infectious and bright as her hand curled in his as the other rested on his shoulder. "I do like dancing."
