You can't do it alone anymore, you've tried. 15. I'M SORRY You said something or did something horrible and now it's time to ask for forgiveness. 16. YOU WERE A MISTAKE Sorry, but whoever you're talking to was the biggest mistake of your life or maybe it was just something you did together. 17. "As little?" she laughs, breathlessly, shaking her head as she leans up to kiss him once more. "I'm pretty sure even if it hurts a bit every time, I want this more than 'as little'." In the end it felt too good not to want to do it again. And she hoped that wasn't too bold to say aloud but she was finding herself feeling more comfortable with saying things like that with him even if she knew she was supposed to be more bashful or demure.

And oh, how could he look anything but happy, at her next words? Who the hell cared if it wasn't bashful and demure, what she said was the best thing he'd ever heard, the way she wasn't afraid to tell him that, either. "Yeah? Really? Well - I mean, we can do it a lot." He paused, laughing sheepishly. "Or - well, you know. Not a little. But I don't think your dad is going to be okay with me asking to stay every night, so... " It might be a little hard to finagle a lot, just now. But he'd meant what he said - he meant to marry her, he wanted that with her, and as soon as he was able to get back on his feet, really back on his feet, and on his own (not that her uncle hadn't been the most hospitable of men), he wanted to ask her.

"I could always come visit you at my uncle's," she put in quietly, her fingers stroking his face as she looked up at his face. It'd be easier to do this at her uncle's since her uncle tended to go on trips and she knew that he was just as a heavy sleeper as her father. Come Thanksgiving, they're both snoring on the couch first. "Plus every night... that might wear you out."

He laughed quietly, grinning widely as she suggested coming to visit him at her uncle's. "Oh... I think I might like that," he admitted; the man was a heavy sleeper, and he wasn't always home. It would work out pretty well, even if his bed there was a bit smaller than the Roberts' guest bed. "And I guess I should get some sleep sometimes," he conceded, "But if I had to lose sleep... you're the person I want to lose it to, beautiful." Speaking of sleep... now he felt like he might be able to get it, but he didn't want to suggest it yet - because he knew she'd have to go back to her room, and he was just too comfortable here, like this. He wanted to stay wrapped in this moment for as long as he possibly could, just to make sure tonight had really happened. "And we don't want your dad to get suspicious, either."

"Well, I hope you don't lose too much sleep," she teased softly. "And I don't think my father would get too suspicious. He thinks you're a good boy for the most part." She grinned at him, knowing that while he was a good man, what they just did wasn't his doing, she'd been the one to start it.

"I guess so... and you must be pretty tired, too." He brushed a few kisses of his own to her lips, still intent on drawing out the moment as long as absolutely possible. "Will you come with me tomorrow? I mean, I can't imagine it'll be exciting, but..." He could really use her support, though he hoped he wouldn't be poked and asked questions by doctors all day. But whatever the prognosis was, he wanted her there for it, if she could be. Thankfully it was a long weekend because of the holiday, and he didn't have to worry about calling off of work - besides, he'd be in the hospital, just getting checked up on instead of working.

He blinked, realizing - "Oh - oh, I guess we should... let me help." Of course... that meant they'd have to get up, so after a moment or so during which he built up his resolution, he started to move, sitting up, holding out a hand to help her up, too, groaning quietly because it really was so very comfortably pressed against her. "Can we get these in the wash without raising any suspicion?" He supposed she could always take them back to her room, stash them in a closet until later.

She let out a soft sigh when he pulled away but she knew that they needed to get going or get caught. She sat up with his help, her body feeling heavily and achey in the best way possible. Her hands moved to his face as they both sat up, her eyes meeting with his. "I can take them back to my room. I'll figure out what to do with them later." Luckily her father never paid attention to the linens much, let alone the linens of the guest room. She pressed another soft kiss to his lips before she made the move to slip out of bed, wobbly as hell. Still, she glanced back before seeing her robe tangled in the sheets and she pulled it free so she could slip it on. She was thankful that the guest room had it's own washroom attached so that even if her father heard them turn on the faucet, he'd just think it was Leckie. "I guess whatever towel you use... Well, I can take that too."

He waited a good long while before glancing back over his shoulder to make sure she'd had time to clean off, folding the cloth up so the outside was cleaner than the inside and setting it on top of the sheets. "Thank you, for taking these. I'd walk you back to your room, but I suppose that'd just be asking for trouble."

He hummed quietly as her fingers slipped up his bare chest to touch his neck, his face, marveling at how familiar the gesture felt when he had only experienced it for the first time less than an hour ago. When he shook his head, it was just barely; he didn't want to dislodge her fingers. "No, that's all right. I can get it. You head back and get some sleep, I'm going to do the same."

"Goodnight, Summer," he murmured, smiling down at her when he finally leaned back enough to break the kiss. "I'll see you in the morning, sweetheart."
