meme | #002 -- absolute obedience ( do you do you want to )
the ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE MEME 1. Post with your character. 2. That character is compelled to follow the orders of anyone who replies. 3. Any orders. 4. Any orders. Meme Strategy: There's nothing in the rules about whether or not your character knows s/he must obey - as well, the other character might not know that s/he must be obeyed. Play it however you like. Don't like the orders you got? Not willing to have your character follow them, even if you've had a good time up to this point? Talk to the other player, use OOC notes or PMs, try and work it out. Got some stuff you'd never want to play out? Consider making a preferences post and linking to it when you reply here. Wanna give orders that people would love to follow? Give em context. Make it a story. Is this about revenge? Working out some personal issues? Too dumb to realize that the other guy has to do whatever your guy says? |

Physical.

I've never been much for emotional stimulation.

[ her tone says she's unsurprised, but she's still got that little smile. ]
Do you think I could tell you to? If I ordered you, right now, to fall in love with me, what do you think would happen, Mr. Holmes?
no subject
I imagine it would be the same effect as telling someone to feel sad or die. They would be compelled to react accordingly, however the internal stimulus would not be present. I would be compelled to act as though I loved you, but it would be a very hollow action.

Would it?

And if I returned the instruction?
no subject
Oh, no. That's not how this works, is it?
no subject
Figuring out how this works is all part of the fun. There's a limit to what people will do before they start denying you.

That's how this works.
[ and then without any orders at all she leans in and ghosts her lips where her fingers just were; almost close enough to be a kiss, her breath tickling his skin. ]

Tell me what your intentions are, Miss Adler.

[ she draws back, slightly petulant but reining herself in admirably. after all, she still has the power to make him obey. not that she plans to use it — that's hardly stimulating. ]

[He raises an eyebrow at her withdrawal. She makes no sense to him at times. Most times. It's an unusual feeling, not understanding someone's motives.]

There are very few people, let alone women, that I respect intellectually, and you---managing to outwit me not once, but twice, you are unique. Boring wouldn't suit you.
no subject
It's true, I don't do boring. Now, you're the master of visualization, so answer me something. If I told you to have dinner with me, what do you think would happen?

And then---[he looks away from her]---nothing. We would remain the same.

[ Still, something catches her attention, and she's close again. Perfume, today, a very subtle scent of sandalwood, or perhaps there's just something in her soap. ]
Surely you know why I want to, Mr Holmes?
no subject
[That's a lie, of course. If he did know, he'd probably be asking anyway. As it is, he's still not certain what she means by 'dinner'. Or...anything else about her, actually.
He inhales her perfume. He's done a study of perfumes and their origins, it's on the website, but hers is foreign. Alien. Utterly untraceable. It might even be classified as 'intoxicating']

[ The manner in which she speaks is a very subtle mockery of Sherlock when he solves a case. ]
I'm not going to tell you to have dinner with me, Mr. Holmes, because then you'd have to obey me. But I'm not going to ask, either.
[ Irene doesn't tend to ask for things. ]
no subject
Then you're at a loss, Miss Adler. [Because Sherlock Holmes can and will be just that stubborn.]
