meme | #002 -- absolute obedience ( do you do you want to )
the ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE MEME 1. Post with your character. 2. That character is compelled to follow the orders of anyone who replies. 3. Any orders. 4. Any orders. Meme Strategy: There's nothing in the rules about whether or not your character knows s/he must obey - as well, the other character might not know that s/he must be obeyed. Play it however you like. Don't like the orders you got? Not willing to have your character follow them, even if you've had a good time up to this point? Talk to the other player, use OOC notes or PMs, try and work it out. Got some stuff you'd never want to play out? Consider making a preferences post and linking to it when you reply here. Wanna give orders that people would love to follow? Give em context. Make it a story. Is this about revenge? Working out some personal issues? Too dumb to realize that the other guy has to do whatever your guy says? |

Tell me what your intentions are, Miss Adler.

[ she draws back, slightly petulant but reining herself in admirably. after all, she still has the power to make him obey. not that she plans to use it — that's hardly stimulating. ]

[He raises an eyebrow at her withdrawal. She makes no sense to him at times. Most times. It's an unusual feeling, not understanding someone's motives.]

There are very few people, let alone women, that I respect intellectually, and you---managing to outwit me not once, but twice, you are unique. Boring wouldn't suit you.

It's true, I don't do boring. Now, you're the master of visualization, so answer me something. If I told you to have dinner with me, what do you think would happen?

And then---[he looks away from her]---nothing. We would remain the same.

[ Still, something catches her attention, and she's close again. Perfume, today, a very subtle scent of sandalwood, or perhaps there's just something in her soap. ]
Surely you know why I want to, Mr Holmes?

[That's a lie, of course. If he did know, he'd probably be asking anyway. As it is, he's still not certain what she means by 'dinner'. Or...anything else about her, actually.
He inhales her perfume. He's done a study of perfumes and their origins, it's on the website, but hers is foreign. Alien. Utterly untraceable. It might even be classified as 'intoxicating']

[ The manner in which she speaks is a very subtle mockery of Sherlock when he solves a case. ]
I'm not going to tell you to have dinner with me, Mr. Holmes, because then you'd have to obey me. But I'm not going to ask, either.
[ Irene doesn't tend to ask for things. ]

Then you're at a loss, Miss Adler. [Because Sherlock Holmes can and will be just that stubborn.]

[his voice is low, and just a shade around vulnerable, because he's not really certain of the answer to this question. There aren't a lot of questions that he asks that he really doesn't know the answer to.]
---would you give me that I'd be losing out on?
no subject
I'm not sure it's something I can describe. Perhaps it's something you'd simply have to ... experience.
no subject
I've had dinner on my own before.
[He's just being difficult at this point. He knows very well that isn't what she's referring to.]

[ She flicks an eyebrow up, her smile going with it, somewhere between mischievous and smug. ]
I think I'd like to see that.

[There's something about that smile that just does something to Sherlock, something he might possibly understand in someone else, but is incapable of understanding in himself. His heartrate rises, and he gets the strangest desire to actually taste that smile.
Idiotic, really. He won't allow himself to do much more than return her smile with a very slight one of his own.]
