[ She looks at him and her eyes widen and then she looks away, and starts pacing again. ]

[ Whatever, pacing. Pacing, freaking out, emphatically gesturing... ] I don't know. I can't -- It's a child. It's a child and it's growing in there and it's already grown some, and I don't -- [ And then she looks at him again, hugging her arms around herself and taking a deep breath. ]

I want to keep it. But -- but it's yours, too, and I don't want to do a bounds-overstepping thing, and I don't even know what happens with people and angels and -- god, will it be human?

No. It won't be human. [And he doesn't know what to think of this either, she wants to keep it, why would she, doesn't she understand it's an abomination?

But that's what God had thought. It annoys him that this is one of the only issues he still agrees with God about. And yet--there are advantages.]

It's not just one of the nephilim. It's mine. It's going to be the anti-Christ. It's going to have powers that will help it destroy the world and raise Hell. It's already corrupted, Buffy.

[ The irony. ]

I'm -- I'm -- the Slayer! I can't be -- with -- [ There has to be a place to sit. She's just going to pace until she finds a place to thud down and stare horrified at whatever she can stare at and she's just going to look down at her stomach like there's anything she can do. ]

Lucifer, what -- what do we -- isn't there anything? I mean, isn't it being mine something that might help it be not evil?

[He crosses over to stand beside her.]

God had the last nephilim destroyed. And none of those were mine. [So the children of loyal angels came out so dangerous God had them killed...imagine what the one created by Lucifer would be.]

But I won't let it ruin the earth.

[ She would lean toward him but her mind is too singularly focused to make her muscles do anything. ]

It's our child. How -- What if -- we can raise it, to believe in -- in something good. That could work. And God'll just have to deal with it.

[It's a peculiar effect of the nephilim that their parents become protective of them. It's how they survived to adulthood; it's why Gabriel had to kill them. The closer Lucifer is to her, the more distant his own disdain for the child is. He crouches down beside Buffy, fingers drifting through her hair.]

We could. I know a Slayer has never been mother to a nephil before. And I know that God has been wrong about almost everything else...

Because she's the only one I have icons of at the moment.

[She's sprawled out on her stomach on the bed, the pillow gathered up beneath her head and the sheet is pulled up around her bare waist. Her gaze is focused on Lucifer very intently and Michael's been deep in thought for quite a while. Suddenly she shifts so she can lean her head on her hand.]

Let's leave.

[Lucifer has taken her all over the world, then followed Michael wherever they've missed. She reaches out and tucks Michael's hair behind her ear, expecting to hear of distant mountaintops.]

[Traveling the planet had been wonderful - even though the Earth was crowded with humans everywhere they went but Michael really wanted to break free of everything. Michael rolls over onto her side to better look at her sister.]

This planet. Let's go find our own world and live on it.

But...you'd be leaving all of this--

[Surely Michael is mocking her. Lucifer watches her with a worried, suspicious frown and then leans forward to kiss her with a sharp little nip at the end.]

[She takes notice of the frown and decides she doesn't like it. As the kiss ends Michael sits up fully and keeps her gaze locked on Lucifer.]

I'm not. I want to leave and I don't care about all of this. It was never ours to begin with. [Shifting now to brush hair away from Lucifer's face gently.] We could have a place all our own.

A place we could invite the others, sometime? [It's not as if the others stand a chance against Michael and Lucifer together, should they get out of hand.

A smile begins to tug at her lips.]

A place where I could get you to be as loud as I want?

Anytime we wanted. That is one of the purposes of having a home, to invite your siblings over, isn't it? [They could holiday get-togethers all the time on their world away from the humans that was filled with lush and safe from the human stains wilderness.

She smirks a little at that even as she leans down into Lucifer.]

You mean you can try. [Michael wasn't the loudest being in bed, though she was sure Lucifer had plenty of tricks to try.]

If at first you don't succeed, try try again. And again, and again....

[She loops her arms around Michael's bare waist, pulling her closer, kissing along her chest.]

Do you really mean it? You want to come away with me?

There will always be plenty of time to try again.

[And from the tone of her voice Michael really won't mind each and every attempt. Her fingers brush gently over Lucifer's collar bone.]

I do. Let's run away. [Saying it with those words make it sounds dangerous but exhilarating.]

[She arches up slightly, with a soft, content sound. She can't stop smiling.]

Say that again?

[Her hand dips lower over soft mounds as she leans down to whisper in Lucifer's ear.]

Run away with me.

[Lucifer's breath catches and suddenly she's holding Michael to her tight and she's laughing.

And crying, and humiliated about it but she can't stop.]
