[John should know very well how unaccustomed he is to friendship, how the concern of others makes him uncomfortable. So that's as close to an apology as he's going to give. That and silence as they step into the flat. Once inside, he awkwards about, but only for a second.]

[There's a little shock of surprise when he grins at the hands on him and she looks at him for a long minute before answering. He's not Charles, no, but she's not sure she really cares.]
