I don't usually actually get the invitations themselves, per se. You know, I just sort of get told to show up and then everybody hopes real big.

[ Seriously, could you be like, slightly more helpful. He's not that great with communication anyway and you don't give off the, what, 70% of the stuff that's based on body language. ]

You should come by sometime, be a little more a part of it. It's not that bad.

I already have a job, Mr Stark. [ But she sees her least favourite Councilman making his way over to them, the one who's always staring at her breasts rather than her face and who behaves as though the fact that she is a woman disqualifies her from the work she does.

Even Tony Stark's presence is infintely preferable to his, and he presents an obvious escape route. ] Do you dance?

[ Good. Dancing with him is probably going to be one of her smoother escapes— and she puts her hand in his, the other up on his shoulder, stepping closer. ]

[ He slides right into this new interaction with the same relative ease he does most others, except with less sandpapery against the grain-ness and more smooooooth. ]

I'm serious. [ Still smiling. This is the first thing this evening that she's enjoying. ]

[ He doesn't even care that she's smiling and clearly amused because she's still saying it and who on earth could even jokingly assume that. ]

How can you say something like that? I'm eccentric, a genius. With social skills, I'd add. I'm not boring. That's... Ridiculous.

What does it take for you to find something interesting then? Because I'm fascinating, personally, even I don't fully understand myself, and if that's not cutting it, I'd like to know about my competition.

[theagent]

I divide my time between soldiers, scientists and politicians, Mr Stark. There's little I haven't seen in one form or another.

[ And you'll note she didn't actually call you boring, just not that interesting. There's a fine line there. ]

[ In his mind that's honestly just the same thing. ]

That... sounds really depressing, actually.

You make do with depressing? You do realise that's just even more depressing. Have you ever had a vacation?

Stark. [ Eyeroll. ] Of course I've had a vacation. [ Sometime before she joined SHIELD. The military has R&R. ]

Okay, rephrase. Recently had. Have you had one in the last... eight months.

[theagent]

No. [ So what. ]

That's crazy. How are you not crazy? I would have thought SHIELD - in, clearly, all their infinite wisdom and power - would not want their top agents to go around being crazy. Maybe I can put in a recommendation.

[theagent]

It's fine. I have days off. [ It's really not as big a deal as you make it out to be, Stark :| ]

[fe_male]

[ But he's so good at it. ] There's a world's worth of difference psychologically between a 'day off' and a 'vacation'.

[theagent]

And yet, I'm perfectly sane.
