meme | #002 -- absolute obedience ( do you do you want to )
the ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE MEME 1. Post with your character. 2. That character is compelled to follow the orders of anyone who replies. 3. Any orders. 4. Any orders. Meme Strategy: There's nothing in the rules about whether or not your character knows s/he must obey - as well, the other character might not know that s/he must be obeyed. Play it however you like. Don't like the orders you got? Not willing to have your character follow them, even if you've had a good time up to this point? Talk to the other player, use OOC notes or PMs, try and work it out. Got some stuff you'd never want to play out? Consider making a preferences post and linking to it when you reply here. Wanna give orders that people would love to follow? Give em context. Make it a story. Is this about revenge? Working out some personal issues? Too dumb to realize that the other guy has to do whatever your guy says? |

So while with every other guard, he'd fight and raise a fist, with Sokka he simply pushes him off. There's a dark, cold look, one he hasn't cast at the tribesman since their very first meeting, in Jet's eyes. It's entirely directed at Sokka.
But he takes a few steps over and sits as he's told, never breaking his gaze.]
NPCs it up like whoa!
[He hears a snap as the other guard threatens and turns to look just in time to see the guard bringing the weapon down in a long, powerful arc, aimed at the back of Jet's neck.]
Wait, don--! [Oh yeah, he's a bad guy right now. Gotta remember that. Welp, better see where this goes before he says anything else...]
AW YEAH
But his eyes lift to Sokka. His temper is raging, and he wants to hit him, too, but what would happen if he disobeyed? Would Sokka have to lash him? Would Sokka get in trouble?
He'd prevent that. Any way he could.
Gritting his teeth, he sits upright with tensed muscles. He can't think of anything to say, for comfort that he's okay or curses so Sokka knows what he's thinking.
So he says nothing.]

[And while the other person remains stiff, after a second they seem to concede without so much as a word, gesturing to Jet and backing away.]
[Sokka turns back to his friend and swallows, the weapon shaking at the end of his hand.] I-if you don't cooperate, you'll get more than that. Got it?
no subject
He looks at the weapon, then to Sokka.] Then do it. What's stopping you, Sokka?

[But already the other man was moving forward to take over again.]
Shut up! [Sokka hisses, pained at the thought of inflicting damage, but follows through with a swipe right across Jet's face. It's not as hard as the other guard, but the snapping sound the leather makes when it connects with Jet's cheek is enough to make the tribesman feel that much worse.] Just... just shut up or you'll get it again, okay?!

In the back of his mind, he knew this hurt Sokka. He knew it was the last thing he wanted to do, but he wanted to make the other boy step down. He wanted him to fight what he was being forced to do, to take the beating.
But that was a beating Jet didn't have in himself to inflict.
The whip to the face makes him jump, it was really the last thing he'd expected. He wants to get to his feet, to use intimidation, to hit Sokka with his bare fist until he has some sense knocked into him, but something keeps him in that chair. With his head bowed, he clenches his fists. How could he play along with this? He snaps his neck back in Sokka's direction.]
You want me to shut up?! You wanna go play soldier, Sokka, is that it? Is that why you're doing this?!

[Sokka turns to the other guard.] If he won't cooperate, we'll need the clamps. You go -- I have some... unfinished business with this rebel. [He spits it out with vitriol only meant for himself, but it seems to convince the other guard who nods and leaves them alone.]
no subject
He snorts.] Yeah, go get the clamps! Why don't you chain me up and go help him, traitor?
no subject
Are you stupid or something? They'll kill us both if they realize we're on the same side!

[Sokka tugs at his own collar, feeling oddly overheated.] Listen, they're not the type to be merciful. I've seen them-- [He swallows, shakes his head, mops at the sweat on his forehead.] Three died this morning -- they'd been suffering for days, Jet. Death was a relief, but it took days to get there...

[His grudge from home is what's making him so enraged about this.]
Those three went down honorably, Sokka. They faced what they had to face and didn't back down until they had to.

I can't even tell if this has or ever will be on prompt, but idec, I love it!
[Before he can say anything more, two new guards come through the door with "the clamps" followed immediately by... another set of "the clamps." Huh. Sokka glances back to Jet because he's no so sure what will happen next. He slaps the crop against the other boy's arm and takes a step back.]
Hey just won't talk without-- without some persuasion... Rack him up. [Ugh. He could taste bile at having to say it.]
FFFF TTHIS IS BEAUTY
He sees the other guards before he hears them, which is a self relevation to how off he may be.
But it doesn't sink in. And he very defiantly fights the guards, getting one good left hook in before being tackled and held down.
No. He's not looking in Sokka's direction, just struggling.]
I AM SO LATE T____T
[Female, he can tell, even if the clothes are meant to hide that fact. Her head is covered and she doesn't appear to have enough life to struggle or scream. Not-too-tall, not-too-short -- she could be anyone. More than likely, though, it was someone they both knew.]
What's this? Another prisoner? Aren't we lucky? [Ugh. He's so disappointed in himself for saying it.]
[C'mon Sokka... gotta think, gotta make a plan, gotta get everyone out and safe and do it fast. Gotta think!]
