FORMAL OR INFORMAL, WITH MUSIC OR WITHOUT, YOU COULD BE AT A GLAMOUROUS GALA WHILE A SINGER CROONS SOFTLY OR IN THE SILENCE OF YOUR OWN LIVING ROOM. WHEREVER YOU ARE, YOU HAVE THE URGE TO DANCE. DID YOU ASK YOUR PARTNER OR DID THEY ASK YOU? HAVE YOU GOT TWO LEFT FEET OR IS THE VIENNESE WALTZ YOUR JAM? IT COULD BE AWKWARD, IT COULD BE ROMANTIC. EITHER WAY IT'S CUTE AS HELL.

Oh, yes! [ She'll just follow Sif where she walks, half a step behind. ]

It's amazingly beautiful, and I've learnt so much already.

[A standard, Asgardian chuckle!]

So I have heard. I don't think our libraries have seen such an attentive student since--

[Well :|]

In quite some time.

[ standard, Asgardian chuckles don't sound so different from standard human ones. Jane joins in on the chuckling. ]

I hope no one minds that I spend so much time in there. [ It's just so exciting. She doesn't want to step on anyone's toes or commit a diplomatic faux-pas, but there's so much knowledge there, waiting for her to discover it. ]

On the contrary, I believe the librarians thrilled to have such an interested scholar. Their job can be somewhat thankless, here.

[The music speeds up, slightly. She bows towards Jane, and then twirls the woman around.]

Have you spoken with Heimdall, yet?

[personal profile] astrophysicists 2012-05-07 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
In that case, I'm glad. [ And more than willing to spend even more time in the library, when there isn't a feast to attend, like now. Like rather frequently, actually, it seems. ]

Very briefly. He seems— [ imposing. ]

[She laughs, and decides not to tell Jane that the gatekeeper can likely hear this very conversation.]

My brother is a man of few words. Fewer still that he shares with others. It is one way to get yourself excused from feasts.

[personal profile] astrophysicists 2012-05-08 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
He's your brother? [ Oh. ]
brosif: (look up)

We share one of the same mothers. [Asgardian reproduction! Aren't you glad you're dating their prince?]

He was already fully grown and standing at his post when I was born. We do not know one another that well.

[personal profile] astrophysicists 2012-05-10 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
One of the same mothers. [ She may have to read up on Asgardian reproduction. Not her field of study, but— one of the same mothers? ] Do you have several mothers? Is it biological or cultural? [ Don't mind her, she's curious. ]
brosif: (aware)

[personal profile] brosif 2012-05-11 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sif's isn't offended, per say. It's no different to her than asking about eye color. But -- it's like asking about eye color. She wonders at the need for the question.]

I have one mother. Heimdall is a special case. He is very powerful. There are none like him.

[personal profile] astrophysicists 2012-05-11 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[ For a scientist, eye colour may well be very interesting. As this is for Jane, even though it's far removed from her actual field of interest.

Still.
]

So Heimdall has— several mothers?
brosif: (laugh)

[personal profile] brosif 2012-05-11 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Nine, to be exact.

[A smile.]

I take it reproduction is more simple on Midgard.

[personal profile] astrophysicists 2012-05-12 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Nine, how does that even work. ]

Er, yes. One mother, one father, biologically.

[ Pause. Wait. ]

What about Thor?
