He had no idea which one of them was supposed to lead.
"You're suddenly in a mood," he let himself think of that instead. Rarely did Narvin take a romantic turn, but when he did he usually went all out; in his Narviny way.

"Oh, wait just a moment." He took his handheld computer out of his pocket and one-handly pushed a few buttons until it began to play a slow song, then resumed dancing position.
"I simply wanted to try something." His first attempt at traditional human-style seduction was (as he later found out) full of errors. Coffee beans were not an acceptable plant substitute for rose petals. He'd done more research since then. (This time he'd sprinkled the bed with some unfortunately suggestive anthurium flowers. Narvin didn't notice the phallic nature, just that they were flowers and they were red. That's basically like a rose.)

He grinned, though, that wide grin that made his eyes crinkle at the corner and his cheeks apple up in a surprising way. Just because Narvin was amusingly sentimental.
"What is it that you're wantin' to try?"

He slid his hand from Kay's shoulder to behind his neck to brush at the nape with his fingers. He danced close enough that he could feel Kay's heartbeat.

He wondered whether he should give up before he embarrassed himself further, but the dancing wasn't bad.

Then there's the bed covered in flowers that look a little bit like Chloriphid noses and/or genitalia. It's enough to give him slight pause in his dancing, and probably enough for him to bump into Narvin.

"Is there something wrong?"
Narvin glanced over his shoulder to see if there was some unexpected problem. But everything looked just as he'd left it. Bed. Candles. And anthurium everywhere, their stamens sticking up towards the ceiling.

"Nope."
Because sometimes when you loved, you lied. You lied with every ounce of love within you and you meant that lie because the person you were telling it to deserved it. He turned, grabbed Narvin's hands, and tugged him right down onto the bed.
