"Hey!" Yosuke interrupted, just on the off chance Souji was about to follow that up with a confused, weirded-out, What are you doing here? Figures he'd be the guy to not consider the time until after he rung the doorbell. Damnit, Souji was probably feeling so awkward right now. Yosuke didn't give his friend the chance to disprove that, continuing on believing it was as good as truth.
"Ha...ha, man, I totally forgot how late it was," he offered abruptly, suddenly regretting pretty much everything leading up to this moment. Souji looked so damn tired. He probably woke him up! Yosuke pushed his hand forward after a beat of silence, plastic bag swinging with dinner. "I, uh, I'm not staying long or anything, I just thought I'd bring you dinner!"
He could have noodles at home or something. Or maybe he'd just go right to sleep, the embarrassment of all this was sort of killing his appetite. Since when had Souji become so damn hard to approach? Maybe it was the place. Things were normal enough between them at school, but here...Yosuke felt like he was looking in on a tomb. Souji was such a private guy most of the time...and now he had all this family stuff going on. Ugh. He was probably going to be really annoyed that Yosuke just invaded like this. Damnit. Why couldn't someone smart invent a time machine so he could learn to not screw up with people every five minutes? Usually he and Souji were cool, but this just felt...awkward.
With all the answering for Souji that Yosuke had done in his head, he barely realized his friend hadn't actually spoken yet.
