The hand at her cheek slipped around to cradle her head, gently, as she kissed him, humming against her lips though he would have to wait to say a proper goodbye until after their lips had parted. He wished she didn't have to go back to her room for what was probably the hundredth time, but it didn't change a thing, and he knew it wouldn't.
"Goodnight, Summer," he murmured, smiling down at her when he finally leaned back enough to break the kiss. "I'll see you in the morning, sweetheart."
