He wanted to know what it was like, too, to wake up curled around her, feeling safe and warm and better than he had, well, ever. But it was too high a risk, he was willing to wait now so that they could do this again sometime in the future.

"I guess so... and you must be pretty tired, too." He brushed a few kisses of his own to her lips, still intent on drawing out the moment as long as absolutely possible. "Will you come with me tomorrow? I mean, I can't imagine it'll be exciting, but..." He could really use her support, though he hoped he wouldn't be poked and asked questions by doctors all day. But whatever the prognosis was, he wanted her there for it, if she could be. Thankfully it was a long weekend because of the holiday, and he didn't have to worry about calling off of work - besides, he'd be in the hospital, just getting checked up on instead of working.
