She didn't care either but she knew her father wouldn't be quite so happy to hear that she was making some amorous display in the middle of town, unmarried with a man in uniform. People talked and with her father being who he was, she knew that would only be trouble. But oh, it was so hard to contain her excitement, her joy at hearing those words yet again come from his lips. "Just say it again?" Because he was right in thinking she needed to hear possibly more often than he did, just to make sure it was true, that this wasn't some dream.
