There was music that started from a band in a nearby gazebo which signaled the twenty minute mark until the fireworks show, they would play until the show started, the go silent until the end when they'd play the national anthem. She felt a bit of pride, sitting with a man in uniform, feeling proud of him as well. More than a few people had passed by them and given Leckie a nod or called out a word of thanks as they ate and she couldn't help but lean over and press a kiss to his cheek.
