He would have let her know where he was - but he hadn't known she'd been waiting for him, couldn't have known. He wished he could have contacted his parents, told them, maybe they could have told her... but two days with them and he already wasn't sure if they'd ever even talked to Summer more than a few times. But none of that mattered now - he was here, and he nodded when she said those nurses had cared for him when she couldn't. They had, and they'd kept him alive to send him back here, and that was what mattered now.

"Well, clearly you don't get out much," he teased, though he leaned in to press his lips to hers for just a few seconds, to prove that he was thankful, grateful she thought that. "But good. I definitely want you to remember that. This isn't something we should have to go through alone. We have each other. I'm not going anywhere."
